Are you and especially your children tired of the boring dinner rolls?
Yes I know when the kids get bored they just refuse to eat. One clever trick, that I can share with you - Make the food looks prettier 😍
With this recipe we will turn the boring dinner rolls into a Star.
I will share step by step the whole process and in pictures you will learn how to get creative and involve your children to help you.
When you are ready to give a go, show your children the pictures of this yummy Bunnies and you will not repeat twice they will ask you how to join the Fun.
So let's start
Strong Bread Flour: 250g
Dry Yeast 3.5g / 1/2 packet /
Salt 2 tsp
Lukewarm water 150ml
Olive Oil 25ml
Pour all dry ingredients - the flour, salt, sugar, yeast in bowl.
Give a good stir until all ingredients are combined.
Then add the lukewarm water and the olive oil.
Give a good stir with a fork until you can't anymore mix it.
Bring the dough to the flour dusted table and knead the dough for around 5 min.
To check the dough if it's ready just press it with your finger, if the dough pops back that means it's ready.
Pleace the ready dough in a bowl and cover it with a towel for a 1 hour. This process is called proving or raising.
Here is the Moment when you can show your children the science experiment with the yeast. This video will help them to understand better how the yeast works.
After 1 Hour your dough has to be ready and double it's size.
So now it comes the best part😀 When I say the Best part I mean the Creating Part. It is the best because your kids will use their creativity, minds, hands and passion. This is why I love baking. It takes you to another world where you can take all the stress out and enjoy some craft works.
Make a two balls. The second one just cut it
The first one will be the face in the middle.
Shape the ears and the nose. Add some olives for eyes Cut some lines for the whisker
and the mouth.
Let it rest again for 30 min
Prepare your Egg Wash:
1 Yolk with 1/2 tsp milk.
Brush the bunny roll with the egg wash and bake it on a preheated oven 180C for a 15-20 min or until the colour becomes gold.
I have to admit after the second prove the bunnies have changed and they look more like mices, but still they are so cute. Isn't it?
The last and the most important step is to share them with the whole family.
Enjoy! PS: If you like to see how my children have made them please see the video.
